| WHAT? Reflect on what happened. Make initial observations. | Today, (23/8/23 2023) my main goal was to help the children understand how to make a smoothie. To achieve this, I planned a fun activity: making avocado smoothies. The children got to put all the fruits such as bananas, avocados, strawberries, and milk into a cup. This activity worked really well as the children learned how to make a smoothie and why it is good to eat healthy. The children were very interested in this activity when they had put the ingredients into the cups. In the afternoon, I talked to the parents about what we did. They were really happy to hear that their children were learning and having fun. I will also send the photos to them later through HarmonyWeb |
| SO WHAT? Ask deeper questions to better understand what happened. | I did another activity using a fun song called the "munch and move CD song." The kids moved around and copied the actions in the song. When they heard the part about drinking water, they stopped to get water to drink. In both this activity and the smoothie one, the younger children had some trouble understanding how to complete the activity. The next time we will talk about eating healthy, I am thinking of giving the younger kids an easier task, like cutting soft fruits. |
| WHAT NEXT? Consider what improvements to make and take action. | The way that I am teaching the children currently works well as I see them improve. The children can do things on their own and don't need me to help them a lot. For example, putting fruits in the cup or doing actions in the song. But next time, I'm thinking of helping the younger kids more. The older kids can do the tougher activities, and I'll give a hand to the little ones. |
