| WHAT? Reflect on what happened. Make initial observations. | today I continued the children's shapes and numbers learning, by giving them shapes and a number felt board. first I spend time with them to see how much they all already learned and what learning they need to develop their number and shape learning and recognising skills. children were able to recognise some numbers and shapes, some children knew some numbers and shapes, and other children did not know. so children helped each other to develop their learning, and I helped them to continue their learning. Children were developing their social and communication skills by helping each other. I share this information in my daily journal and when parents pick up their children. |
| SO WHAT? Ask deeper questions to better understand what happened. | One four-year-old child was not able to recognise some shapes and numbers, while 2 years old child was able to recognise the numbers and shapes. Then I saw a 4-year-old child and felt so upset. Then I told him that it was okay, as we all are learning the shapes and numbers, and praised him when he was able to recognise some. And that makes him happy. To support everyone together, depending on their situation and age and emotion, was a big challenge for me. Yes, one parent told me that his child gets very emotional and frustrated when he cannot succeed in what is required. |
| WHAT NEXT? Consider what improvements to make and take action. | I will give extra support to that child, so he can develop his confidence, by spending more time with him and his learning. I will try to find out his weaknesses and strengths. I think I need to build more knowledge about children's emotions and behaviour. I can develop these skills by finding out more information and doing some research about this. It is very important to understand children's emotions. |
