Self Reflection

Thank you for completing the self-assessment reflection.

Question Answer
WHAT? Reflect on what happened. Make initial observations. today, the children had their morning tea in the outdoor area with their fruits, to explore munch and move goals. while children were having their fruits, I asked everyone about what fruits they had. Children were able to recognise their fruits, and they talked to each other about their fruits. Imran told his peers that he got cucumbers, and his peers did not, Cucumbers are very healthy, and they make munch munch sounds. then they started talking about healthy foods and unhealthy foods. I help them to understand which foods are healthy and which foods are sometimes foods. Some children told me that their mum always gives him sometimes food at home and that not healthy. I believe there was a good balance of learning, and children were able to learn healthy foods, and why healthy foods are important. I talked to the parents about the children's understanding of healthy foods, when parents came to pick up their children, and also by daily journal.
SO WHAT? Ask deeper questions to better understand what happened. Some children got a bit sad as they had different and fewer fruits, to make all the children happy, I told them that it's okay to have different fruits, as all fruits are healthy and they were learning different fruit names. then I engaged the children in naming their fruits names, so they could explore their learning and learn about self-regulation. To make all the children happy and get engaged together, I let the children play cricket together. As I told parents about children's learning, then parents started sanding me whole fruits, not pieces of the fruits. now I cut the fruits with the children and all children can have the same pieces of fruit. With this activity, children were developing their five senses.
WHAT NEXT? Consider what improvements to make and take action. I can do training, or get more information by doing research. I will give children more activities about Munch and Move, so children can develop their learning about healthy lifestyles.
